Monday, 20 July 2020 at 13.30, ISTTS held a KSP seminar entitled “How to Make“ Your Own Game ”in 2 Hours” hosted by Mr. Hendrawan Armanto S.Kom., M.Kom. He is a lecturer at the ISTTS S1 Informatics Engineering. This seminar was opened for internal and external participants through the zoom platform and live streaming of YouTube. Pak Hendrawan opened the KSP by introducing himself and also explaining the experience he had during his time as a Game Developer then continued by explaining material on how to make games with the Unreal Engine.
In the game industry, developers definitely need an "engine". The engine in making games can be interpreted by the brain of our game which thinks about the direction and story of a game starting from the characters, maps, and various kinds of details in the game. There are many types of game engines used by developers, from free to paid. But especially for large established game developers, they usually create their own engine. There is one game engine that is quite well known, free and of good quality, namely the Unreal Engine.
The Unreal Engine itself is often used by beginner game developers because it's easy to get. In addition, Unreal Engine also supports OpenGL and Direct3D features. From just an ordinary engine, the Unreal Engine has now turned into a cash machine and has become one of the best examples of gaming machines ever created.
Pak Hendrawan also shared his experience as a Game Developer since 2009 until now. He also shared how to make games in an easy and fun way. Not to forget, he also gave suggestions on what specifications if you want to run the Unreal Engine. Requirements that must be met include a Desktop PC or Mac, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 64-bit, Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz.
At the end of the event, the seminar ended with a question and answer session between KSP participants and resource persons. Then proceed with a group photo and fill out a questionnaire along with attendance for participants who have taken the KSP.
