Good Sentences Structure For Essay Writing
Essays or other scientific writings are certainly very familiar among students and students in the world of education. Through essays, students can write research results, analysis results, and observations made as a written report. But in fact, until now, among students and students, there are still many mistakes in writing essays or scientific writings. Therefore, in order to educate students and as a precaution against errors in essay writing, the KSP Committee (Knowledge Sharing Program) held a Season 10 KSP session with the title "Good Sentences Structure For Essay Writing".
The KSP with the title Good Sentences Structure For Essay Writing was held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Taking place from 10.30-12.30 AM, the KSP was held through a Zoom meeting and broadcast on the KSP ISTTS Youtube channel. Presenting Mr. Agus, M.Sc., M.Min. as a presenter of material, this KSP was attended by 75 participants on Youtube live and 80 participants in an online zoom meeting.
In this KSP, Mr. Agus shared about the forms of essays such as analysis, reviews, opinions, scientific works, reports, and others. In making essays, there are seven things that need to be considered and become the main focus in writing essays. The seven main focuses consist of: paragraph/paragraph content, sentence opening words, sentence length, sentence completeness, subject and phrase synchronization, adverb phrases, and the use of active and passive sentences.
The seven main focuses become the main discussion points because at these points errors are often found in writing. Furthermore, the seven focuses were explained thoroughly by Mr. Agus, for example in the first point, namely the content of the paragraph/paragraph explained about how a correct paragraph/paragraph should be written. To write a good and correct paragraph, it is necessary to classify the context of the sentence based on time sequence, data sequence, place/location, subject, object, condition, etc. So that a paragraph is not just made of a sentence but there are several sentences that are clear and informative.
In addition, there were many other explanations given by Mr. Agus related to the seven focus of the discussion. Mr. Agus also said that skills in writing essays and scientific works can be obtained through experience, such as writing articles and other essays so that you will know things that need to be improved and paid attention to when writing essays or other scientific works.
The KSP activity with the theme presented by Mr. Agus is an activity that greatly facilitates students and students, especially students who are preparing their Final Projects so that they can minimize writing errors in the Final Project book, where it can help reduce the number of revisions in the Final Project book.
